Focus: Redesign of Sacred Symbols
In my submission to YoungArts, 2023, I included this piece. I attempted to re-make the Sacred Heart symbol to be more inclusive for today's audiences.
Another way I focused on this understanding was in my Sacred Art elective, in which I was able to create new interpretations of religious ideas using traditional methods. For example, we made our own ink and used a recipe from the times of illuminated manuscripts. This gave me more understanding of how old ideas and methods could become rethought out in modern times.
